Thursday 28th of December 2023 PaYaKaL lands in Tulum with a 15 hour show of live Techno Music and Art at Buuts' Ha' Cenote, located close to the Casa Tortuga Nature Park, Riviera Maya, Mexico. With our latest event brand PAYAKAL, we are not only focussed on praising nature and bringing music, dancers, visuals, and a great sound system. We endeavor to raise awareness for change and support the local native population and promote its culture. From 11 AM onwards artists and artisans will activate your higher consciousness with their creations and performances. Indulge at the restaurant, relax in a lounge chairs, or in your own VIP area. Swim in the water of the cenote, dive from the cliffs, all is allowed. The evening party starts at 6 PM with a warm up set by resident deejay dj Luna followed by: Show time 8 - 10 PM : DJ/producer and visual artist Kate Stein (Milesnotes, New York, USA), a nascent purveyor of house and cutting-edge disko in all its forms, is grooving her way into the good graces of underground circles with her own experiential sound and regular bookings at NYC’s iconic House of Yes, Berlin's Kater Blau, and festival shows, including Burning Man, last year. Show time 10 - 12 PM : Legendary DJ/Producer Woody McBride aka DJ ESP has dedicated his life to bringing the underground techno sound to people of all walks of life for 20 years. Some say mind expanding, others say body rocking - one thing is certain, ESP gives his heart and soul to the dance floor. He made his mark with 100's of releases, including on Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 Records, Dave Clarke's White Noize, Josh Wink's Ovum, Bush, Drop Bass Network, Acid Tracks, Labworks and his own imprint Communique. Show time 12 PM - 02 AM: Brooklyn’s Joey Beltram (Drumcode, New York, USA) ushered in a new era of rave extremism with his explosive 1991 track “Energy Flash,” delivering a rave anthem that was rawer, harder, and meaner than anything that had come before it. “Energy Flash” is pure visceral assault, a maelstrom of diabolic synth throb, gut-punch drum programming, bad-trip strings, and the distant voice of a dealer at the margins of the party, offering “Ecstasy, Ecstasy.” It’s at once Dionysian and diabolical. “The greatest techno track of all time,” according to critic and historian Simon Reynolds. - J.D.
